Top Rated Bassinet Pack ‘n Plays/Playards for Twins

Updated: Feb 2

This is one of those things most parents and guardians with one baby never have to think about: what’s the best solution when it comes to playards (aka 'pack ‘n plays') and bassinet combos for twins? Honestly, this is something that really snuck up on me when I was pregnant with twins. I assumed there would be tons of solutions out there, but soon discovered many products are, indeed, designed with only one baby in mind. So, here are a few options to consider when it comes time to figure out pack ‘n play/playard/bassinet options for your twins!

Best Pack ‘n Play Bassinet For Newborn Twins: Baby Trend Retreat Twins Nursery Center

It’s been quite a few years since I needed a double bassinet, and I'm really surprised there are still so few options available when it comes to choices.  When we came home from the hospital, I really wanted my twins to be in the same room as me, but having two separate bassinet pack ‘n plays in the same space was going to take over our bedroom and just wasn’t practical.

In the end, after doing a bit of research, I bought a similar bassinet to this option from Baby Trend. The bassinets are removable and portable (they also convert into rock-a-bye bassinets). There is also a flip away changing mat/table and it comes with a removable 'entertainment center' that has music, nightlights and vibration features. I like that this one has built-in diaper and wipe storage, too!

An added bonus of the larger size of this type of pack ‘n play also means your twins have more space to play when they are in it together when the bassinets are removed. Once my twins outgrew the bassinets and we were only using it as a playard, we bought a separate smaller pack ‘n play for one twin for nap time which we put in a separate room.

Best Pack ‘n Play When Traveling With Twin Toddlers: Kidco Peapod

Put two of these on your “must have” items on your twin baby registry! OK, so they’re not actually pack ‘n plays, but I can’t rave enough about the difference having KidCo PeaPod portable pop-up bed tents made to our lives once we started traveling with toddler twins.

They fold up into a small carrying case and are lightweight with mesh openings so there is air flow. They are great once your twins are on the move as they help to keep kids contained. They are also really convenient because they aren’t bulky like pack ‘n plays and are therefore easy to bring with you when traveling. My twins LOVED sleeping - and, yes, playing - in these tents when they were toddlers. We could take them overseas and to hotels and not have to worry about no pack n’ plays being available or if we just didn't want to use hotel-provided ones. We also took them to the beach as an option for shelter in the summer heat.

Not just for twins, I’d recommend these peapod tents (and have done) to all parents who need an extra toddler bed when traveling that is portable and lightweight with the added bonus your children will think they are cool to sleep and play in!

Best Value Pack ‘n Play for Twins

Looking back, I was a little unprepared when my twins were little as to how many sleeping options we’d need! Although I started out with the twin bassinet that converted into a pack ‘n play playard option above, I did end up buying a second pack ‘n play for nap times. This was particularly useful to have in another room in the house as the twins got a little older and kept one another awake during nap times.

There are a lot of different options out there, but if you are looking for a well-rated but reasonably priced playard, you can’t go far wrong with this Graco Portable Pack ‘n Play. It has a push button fold so it’s easy to collapse. It comes highly rated as it is relatively compact when folded and has a durable frame so can withstand frequent trips in the car.

Great value, well rated pack n plays
